NYU Steinhardt Now Accepting Applications for OT@NYU, a New Online Doctor of Occupational Therapy Program
NYU Steinhardt is now accepting applications for OT@NYU, an online Doctor of Occupational Therapy program. Through a combination of live online classes and self-paced course work, OT@NYU enables occupational therapists across the globe to earn an advanced education from NYU without relocating to New York City. The program is delivered 100 percent online and does not require students to visit campus in person. The first class begins in September 2017.
In addition to its on-campus Doctor of Occupational Therapy program, NYU Steinhardt also offers an on-campus master’s program in Occupational Therapy and PhD program in Occupational Therapy. Developed in 1940, the Department of Occupational Therapy at NYU has a long history and is one of the largest and most highly ranked in the country.
The OT@NYU curriculum, developed and delivered by NYU’s accomplished faculty, is the same as that of the on-campus OTD program, and students earn the same degree. Through a variety of electives and specialization courses, OT@NYU takes an interdisciplinary approach to preparing OTs with the advanced clinical expertise and leadership knowledge they need to advance their careers.
The 36-credit Doctor of Occupational Therapy program is offered on a full-time and part-time basis to accommodate the busy schedules of working clinicians. In order to further develop students into leaders, the OT@NYU curriculum is customizable and enables students to design their curriculum around their desired area of specialization. Half of the credits required to complete the program — 18 total — are electives and specialization courses that allow students to build competency in the practice areas that interest them most.
OT@NYU students are admitted on a rolling basis and cohorts begin in January and September. The upcoming priority application deadline for the inaugural cohort in September is June 20, 2017.
